[a little note from Rebecca]
Welcome to Ritual Skin, my dream little studio that came to life this summer after wanting my own space for so many years. I live here in Columbus with my husband of 24 years and our beautiful 18-year-old daughter. With our girl heading off to college soon, I knew this was the time to have a second baby, so Ritual was born.
I’ve been in the skincare industry for quite a few years now, and it’s been fun to see myself evolve into the type of esthetician I am today. I like to say I’m one of the OGs in Columbus, but since that makes me sound ancient, I’ll add that I began my career at age 19!
I was a baby back then and honestly had no idea how to truly care for the skin of my clients. Esthetics school in the late 90s didn't teach you about skin health, or how systemic and connected the body is to your skin. But, with time, mistakes, lots of education, endless reading and podcasts, trial and error, and working with some of the best skincare products on the market (and some of the worst!), I’ve grown to love on my clients' skin in a way that respects it and listens to it. I do my very best to teach you how to read your skin. My goal is for you to be confident with your hands, your products, and knowing how to listen to your skin, so if you could never see me again for a treatment (even though I’d hate that!) you'd be set! I love educating, and when you work with me, over time, I’m able to share all the pro tips I've picked up along the way.
A few things that may set me apart from a facial you’ve had before, I’m not a chatty facialist during your treatment...unless of course you want conversation! I give you space to unwind and decompress from the busy, loud world we live in.
I want you to enjoy all the intentional ways I give a facial from the sculpting face and neck massage, the heated bed with blankets that feel like you're in a cloud, the light yummy aroma in the diffuser, the cortisol detox music to help you shut your mind off, the scalp massage (come with dirty hair, I don’t mind!), and the hand and arm massage in an all-white, minimal decor space designed just for relaxation.
And one of my favorite things about my facials, you are not rushed. I space out my appointments to allow time for consulting, restroom stop, changing into your gown, and then any product recs and rescheduling at the end (please allow an extra 20–30 minutes onto the facial time you select, so we can fit all the things in.) I use Environ skincare for my treatments, and if you haven’t had an Environ Cool Peel or Vitamin Infusion with the DF3 machine, you're in for a treat! I wanted to create an environment that felt calm, intentional, clean, simple yet elegant, so as you’re rushing from work, dropping the kids off, squeezing a treatment in between your long to-do list, that you know this time was set aside just for you.
As I’ve been working in my new space these past couple months, I catch myself smiling knowing I'm right where I’m supposed to be, loving on women who need it while helping to achieve beautiful, happy skin.
